Gosh, these are the things noone tells you before you buy your BJD doll.
- You need to get MSC (Mr Super Clear flat) before you can put on your doll's makeup. If you don't use it, the doll will explode or something. And it's like totally sold out in the entire solar system. You'll have to ask NASA to search for stock for you in another galaxy.
- If you got a MSD sized doll and you happen to
1) dislike gothic clothes
2) dislike anything that's black, in fact
3) isn't some multimillionaire rapper or basketball player
give up all hopes of finding stuff that you like. You have to search through about 3 thousand websites to find clothes that are actually MSD sized, and pray to god they're not gothic or black, and pray some more that they don't cost like a bajillion dollars. Rinse and repeat with doll shoes (yes you have to buy them separately and they probably cost more than your dinner shoes) - They don't.. really.. pose all that well, actually. My US80 Pullips pose better than em. The best Islington can do is to sit cutely with her legs bent and arms bent. Yeah.
- Wigs aren't as cracked up as they seem to be. Yes, they look gorgeous on the website but that's cos it's been styled, blown and whatever else and its on a gorgeous doll. What you will recieve however, could loosely be described as a mop.
- Be prepared to learn a new language. Good grief, the BJD (see?) world is full of codes!! Even good English ol 'makeup' has its own codeword: 'faceup'. Good grief. Now I discovered theres a new code: 'aesthetics'. That sounds much better.
I think I gotta trim my nails. They're getting so long that it hurts.
Islington got abit of makeup. Not finished yet of course. We're waiting for MSC to arrive, I hope she doesn't explode before then.

We can't find her stock clothes anywhere..!!
Anyway, I went on a shopping spree on ebay and bought her two new boots, a new wig, two cans of MSC (NASA tracked them for me on Alpha Centauri), and I'm awaiting a hat and a coat from someone on DOA. I figured I'd try to make her skirt and socks by myself. No details, you'll have to wait to see how it all comes together! I know I'm excited! (and very, very broke).
