Well! It's the big day! Last Thursday, I got a call in the afternoon (I was still asleep then) from a lady who asked me if I would like to go for an interview for a job in Ogilvy & Mathers. Since I just woke up.. I just went 'uh.. uh huh.. yes..' managed to ask what position it is for (visualiser) and who else will be there (other TOA students). Then I hanged up the phone, some more neurons kicked into life and I sat there going '..wtf?'
Then that was the hectic time. I had to go to Midvalley with WY later that afternoon (to watch Da Vinci's code, get her mouse from the Applecentre and teach me some programs), and the next day, I went to get my Mac and spent all Friday and Saturday teaching myself how to use the new computer. On Sunday I began researching the company, and compiling my portfolio, and Monday was when I went to the school to get my referee and diploma transcript, print my digital work, buy a new A3 folder and DVDs, and files to put them in. Tuesday was working time.. I made my powerpoint presentation, burned it into a CD, decorated the CD, printed the resume, refined everything and attempted to clean my designers' bag. Later that night I researched more about the company, looked up interview questions and answers and wrote down whatever I needed to memorize. Whatta weirdo I am. I slept at 5am.
And woke up at noon and rushed through my packing (I forgot my watch), stuffed everything into my bag, grabbed whatever black pants and white collars I could find and rushed outta the house at 3pm with me dad. I put on my makeup in the car.. damn I suck at it.
Guess what! While we were almost there, the car began making funny noises. Of all times!!! We were early anyway so I wasn't very worried. But finally we had a AAM towtruck to tow us away.. and dropped me at the place, while dad went with him.
I arrived at 4pm but waited till 5pm, very creepy, but time flew cos I was so nervous. Finally I was escorted to the conference room, and Joel came over, and thus we started.
There are 2 interviewers, and it wasn't very official, kinda casual and we were both at ease. They gave us a sorta test, to sketch two scenes: a child running to school, and a basketball dunk scene, and left us alone to draw, that was very thoughtful. Joel and I just chatted and it was kinda fun actually, till the end. Joel gave me a ride to KTM Subang and off home I go safely.
Now to write a thank you letter and make it pretty.
Btw, the car is fine. It just ran out of petrol XD.
